A fenestella is an aperture, small window, or opening in a wall. An installation at El Museo de la Ciudad in Queretaro, Mexico, Fenestellas initially appeared as an empty gallery space in a darkened room, then gradually revealed a constellation-like formation of small glowing holes. The viewing holes acted as portals to direct one’s gaze into one of my photograms.

Additionally, I cut portions of photograms into circles and mounted them into hand cut envelopes, reminiscent of early scientific methods of presentation. Approximately 300 in number, the Fenestellas ranged in size from 2″ to 10″ in diameter. They were stacked in a gallery, and left for viewers to take.
