Safety Isle is a series of unique chromogenic photograms (compositions constructed in total darkness with light sensitive paper) made with items and light sources from the safety aisle at the hardware store. Everyday products such as earplugs, safety vests, and tape transform visually into immense, volatile cosmic events. The work investigates manufactured security as an example of the human attempt toward control, in the face of an existence that is beyond our comprehension. Images are titled as a list of the manufacturers’ names for the materials used. Works range from 11″x14″ to 40″x50″
